Sarshu Jewellery was founded in 2004 by jewellery designers Trudi Sarra & Cherie Costar in Brisbane, Australia. Both creatively driven, the young mums were seeking an outlet, hence ‘ Sarshu ’ was born. Sarshu is an anagram of Trudi ’s surname and Cherie’s son’s surname.
Both women believe beauty is from within, but feel self expression is vital to a woman’s happiness. Tired of mass produced items that lacked personality, the girls decided to design and create from home using Swarovski Crystal, freshwater pearls and European beads.
Initially the girls began at various markets in Brisbane, and had loyal customers. The girls then sold through a variety of retail outlets and hair salons in the Brisbane area.
