Obtaining Birth Death and Marriage Certificates

To get married in Australia you will need to provide evidence of your date and place of birth, your freedom to marry and other documents to prove your identity.

  • Birth Certificates - apply to the State or Territory Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages
  • Death Certificates -  apply to the State or Territory Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriges
  • Marriage Certificates -  apply to the State or Territory Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriage
  • Divorce - apply to the Family Court Of Australia 

REGISTRIES OF BIRTHS, DEATHS AND MARRIAGES

You should apply to the Registry in the State/Territory where the Birth, Death or Marriage occurred
