Change of ACCN Ownership
The Australia Celebrants & Celebrations Network was started 3 years ago as a private network by Rona Goold Civil Marriage Celebrant since 1989. Rona's vision and passion is for the development of the broad professional role of a civil celebrant for "all celebrations", whether an individual celebrant specialised in specific ceremonies are not, depending on their geographic location, age, interests, knowledge and skills etc
To this end, Rona has developed a number of websites to encourage and support civil celebrants to offer their services so Australians can "add a ceremony to their celebrations"
W: http://www.ACCN-Celebrants.com.au - Main Celebrant Directory and Celebrant Support
W: http://www.AskACelebrant.com.au - To promote all celebrants and invite community dialogue
W: http://www.FuneralOptions.com.au - To promote celebrating people's lives while they are a-live
W: http://www.PartyWithAPurpose.com.au - To promote a modern community service role for celebrants
W: http://www.CelebrateMothersDay.com.au - To use special days to celebrate the lives of loved ones or special people
The ACCN support network has grown with the generous input of celebrants willing to share with others.
Alongside this development, a smaller group of Rona's colleagues established a non-profit association with the broad aims of supporting community health and well-being through civil celebrations that supported civil and human rights and responsibilities. Civil Celebrations Network (CCN) Incorporated, established also in 2008, has been set up with a Constitution that wil allow for the online maintenance of the ACCN network's resource, but also to develop further the opportunities to promote and support civil celebrants.
Over the last 12 months, preparations have been made for the transfer of the ownership of the ACCN's websites and resources from Rona Goold to the Civil Celebrations Network (CCN) Incorporated as of today the 30th June 2011. This has been a gift by Rona, and all current and future ACCN subscribers are offered CCN Inc membership as part of their ACCN Celebrant subscriptions if, and only if, they apply on the CCN Inc Membership Form and meet the other simple requirements as set out on the CCN Inc website.
W: http://www.CivilCelebrationsNetwork.org - To enable active participation in the development of the CCN Inc by all those celebrants and others who support CCN Inc aims.
From today, Rona will no longer be the ACCN Director. Instead Rona will take up the role of ACCN Coordinator with the ACCN as a Division of the CCN Inc. responsible to the CCN Inc Committee for the next 2 to 3 years. This will not be a paid position, but out-of-pocket expenses will be covered.
There will be an on line Annual General Meeting in the next six months before which existing and new Committee members will be invited to stand for election. This will allow all CCN Inc members to shape the future development of the ACCN and the CCN Inc.
This means from today, the members of the CCN Inc, including Rona, are now the co-owners and people responsible for the ACCN and CCN's operations and future development.
All celebrants who share the CCN Inc's objectives are invited to participate in passing this gift onto other celebrants and to the Australian community.
May all be prepared to add to this process in which ever way we are able.
