Alongside personalised wedding ceremonies, Chinese tea ceremonies are also one of my specialties.

Why I'm a celebrant: I want to become a celebrant because I want to stay connected to my own culture, even while living overseas. I come from Malaysia, a country shaped by Chinese, Malay and Indian cultures, and I grew up surrounded by different languages, traditions and ways of celebrating life’s important moments.
As part of the Chinese diaspora, I am especially interested in the traditions carried by different Chinese dialect groups and communities. Becoming a celebrant gives me an opportunity not only to remain connected to those customs, but also to help couples incorporate the traditions that are meaningful to them into their own ceremonies.
At the same time, I do not want to limit myself to weddings from cultures I already know. Life is made richer by the many cultures, traditions and stories that people bring with them, and I would value the opportunity to learn about them. For me, being a celebrant is about helping each couple create a ceremony that genuinely reflects who they are, where they come from and what matters to them.

Treasured memories: Growing up surrounded by different languages and cultures, and attending weddings that each celebrated love in their own unique way, taught me something I still carry with me today: love is universal.
Words may sound different from one language to another, and traditions may take different forms, but the emotions behind them remain the same. To me, language is more than a way of communicating — it is a bridge that can bring two people, two families and two cultures closer together, allowing everyone to feel included in a moment that will be remembered for a lifetime.

Tips : Don’t feel that you have to choose between tradition and making your ceremony your own. The most meaningful weddings are often the ones that bring both together.
Whether that means incorporating a Chinese tea ceremony, including different languages so that family members can feel part of the day, or blending traditions from both sides of the family, choose the elements that genuinely mean something to you as a couple. Your wedding should feel like a reflection of the two of you — not a checklist of what a wedding is supposed to look like.

and I'd like to say: Your ceremony should feel like you.
It does not have to follow a particular formula, and it does not have to look like anyone else’s wedding. Whether you want something intimate and simple, deeply traditional, completely unconventional, or a celebration that brings together different cultures, languages and families, I am here to help you shape it into something meaningful.
As someone who grew up surrounded by different languages and cultures, I understand how important it can be for family members to feel included in such a significant moment. I can conduct ceremonies in English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Hokkien and Teochew, and I also offer Chinese tea ceremonies for couples who would like to honour their families and traditions.
Most of all, I want your ceremony to feel genuine, personal and memorable — a celebration that reflects who you are, where you come from and the life you are choosing to build together.
