Obtaining Birth Death and Marriage Certificates

To get married in Australia you will need to provide evidence of your date and place of birth, your freedom to marry and other documents to prove your identity.

While it is preferable to have your documents ready when you meet with and book your marriage celebrant, the documents can be provided later.

The following certificates can be obtained from REGISTRIES OF BIRTHS, DEATHS AND MARRIAGES

You should apply to the Registry in the State/Territory where the Birth, Death or Marriage occurred

( to find contact details just search (eg google)  for BDM and the State/Territory you require)

  • Birth Certificates 
  • Death Certificates
  • Marriage Certificates 

 Apply to the FAMILY COURT OF AUSTRALIA http://www.familycourt.gov.au/  for:

  • Divorce Papers
