The Celebrants Network Inc – Committee Meeting Minutes

Monday 11th March 2024

Meeting opened 7:37 pm ESDST (6:37 pm QLD/ 7:37 NSW/VIC and 4:37 WA)

Item 1: Quorum – Yes

Item 6: Retiring, Resigning, New Committee Members

Item 7: Chairperson’s Report – Debbie Payne – on Forum.

  1. Welcome to all committee members.
  2. Gallagher Insurance update, certificates now being issued to members and are now caught up with backlog of members insurance options.
  3. MLCS have not yet released the 2024 OPD sessions topics. TCN would like to offer members training sessions either by zoom or in by mentor, further discussions around member interest to come, including location etc when the 2024 OPD sessions topics are released. Members are encouraged to complete as soon a practical to miss end of year cut off or portal disruptions.
  4. TCN Website, is currently still undertaking a cleanup with Joomla, updating, and creating space for current information.
  5. New members bio to restrict areas serviced to three areas, not encroaching on other celebrants. This will be added to the newsletter and social media platforms looking at post codes by regions.
  6. Report for registered celebrants for newsletter distribution still to be actioned.

Motion that the Treasurer’s Report date 12/0/2024 be accepted.

Item 9:  Events – Helen Pearce

  1. Helen would like further instruction how best to meet our members, not excess and previous members. Debbie to follow this up and advise continued.

 

Item 10: Membership Report –Kerri Goodman

  1. Membership currently at 388 members, 3 Life Members, and 35 student memberships.
  2. Kerri to provide committee with process for adding new members during leave. Melissa Sheehy has volunteered to assist with the membership upload during Kerri’s absence and notification of how to administer this process will be sent to all committee members. The committee approved Melissa Sheehy assisting with this portfolio during Kerri’s leave.
  3. The committee discussed the 2024/2025 Membership renewals, New membership and Student fees.

Maree Daly put a motion forward to keep 2024/2025 full TCN Membership fees at $150.00. New membership 2024/2025 to be given an early bird discount. See below.

Item 11: Social Media Report – Stacey Maguire

    40% increase in posts

       148% increase in comments

       85% increase in reactions

      Public Page
      33% decrease in reaction from followers

       66.9% increase in reaction from non-followers

Posts on social media from Guidelines on the Marriage Act 1961 for authorised celebrants, to encourage members to use the guide to source the correct information.

  1. Stacey enquired about who manages the welcome letter to new members. This comes under Membership portfolio with Kerri.
  2. Stacey would like to run a FB ad for general advertising for TCN.

Maree Daly put a motion forward to provide Stacey $100.00 for advertising.

Item 12: Other Business

  • Documents in FORUM on TCN website still has many double ups and committee members to view this page to discuss further archiving of documents.
  • Committee members discussed the possibility of updating the website to modernise in line with current information and navigation for members, and to created TCN Resources for members.
  • Job descriptions / Process Forms to be review and updated where required.
  • Kerri to meet with Nathan Morrow re website 12th March 2024.

  1. Kerrie to provide instructions to committee members for adding new members.
  2. Helen and Stacey to advise via newsletter and social media that members will only nominate three service areas.
  3. Deb to follow up MLCS mailing list of celebrants.
  4. Stacey to research list of postcodes by region.
  5. Stacey to compile a list of considerations/changes to present to Nathan Morrow for quote for website upgrade.
  6. Job descriptions / Process Forms to be review and updated where required by each committee member.
