The Celebrants Network Inc – Committee Meeting Minutes

Monday 12th February 2024

Meeting opened 7:35 pm ESDST (6:35 pm QLD/ 7:35 NSW/VIC and 4:35 WA)

Item 1: Quorum – Yes

Present:

Item 2: Previous Minutes Confirmed.

Meeting Minutes of 11th December 2023 – confirmed 12/02/2024.

Item 6: Retiring, Resigning, New Committee Members

Item 7: Chairperson’s Report – Debbie Payne – on Forum.

  1. Welcome to 2024
  2. Gallagher Insurance appears to continue with issuing certificates, however new process confirms all new members.
  3. MLCS Remote signing, still no changes to report as at 08/02/2024.
  4. OPD sessions, no update on when the AGC will release the 2024 OPD topics. TCN would like to offer members training sessions either by zoom or in by mentor, further discussions around member interest to come, including location etc.
  5. TCN Website, is currently undertaking a clean up with Joomla, updating and creating space for current information.
  6. New members bio to restrict areas serviced to three areas, not encroaching on other celebrants. This will be added to the newsletter and social media platforms.
  7. Strategic Plan follow up, no reference to changes, fact page on website.

Motion that the Treasurer’s Report date 12/0/2024 be accepted.

Item 9:  Events – Helen Pearce

  1. Christmas Cheer event for members came together via Zoom 18/12/2023 was minimal attendance but still enjoyable.
  2. Concerns for newsletter reach raised with committee, Helen would like further instruction how best to meet our members, not excess and previous members. Debbie to follow this up and advise.

 

Item 10: Membership Report – Robyn Ryan and Kerri Goodman

  1. Membership currently 19 new members - 2 students mainly from NSW & QLD
  2. Kerri to provide committee with process for adding new members when she is not available to do so.
  3. Follow up welcome letters to new members are sent out to new members.

Item 11: Social Media Report – Stacey Maguire

  1. FB up 121% and Instagram up 43.8%
  2. Posts on social media from Guidelines on the Marriage Act 1961 for authorised celebrants, to encourage members to use the guide to source the correct information.
